Meet your ESDA member: Focused on service

October 2014 Associations

Compass Visual Security was established in April 2008 out of an industry need for a service-orientated distribution company that places priority on focused customer service. The company specialises in the distribution of electronic security products, including CCTV, fire detection, access control and related electronic security systems to a network of resellers throughout South Africa and Africa.

Compass has grown its offering to encompass a broad range of both commodity and high-end integrated solutions. It offers sales and technical services, as well as support by certified staff to its resellers, including design, implementation advice, support and product repair. The company also offers certified sales and technical training to its resellers, increasing their skills and ability to understand the products more thoroughly.

Compass only distributes its range of products to its channel customers, while working closely with a number of consulting engineers.

Compass’s Mark Horne says the company “offers exceptional personalised service to our resellers and our vast experience within the security industry is of great benefit to our customers.

“As opposed to many other distribution companies, we are not simply box movers, but provide a solution-based offering. Our customers know that if they are faced with a problem, we can be relied upon to solve it. We provide customers with industry-leading branded products for the correct applications, and our team of sales specialists that are always willing to assist.”

Installers and integrators rely on the company to offer a wide range of global brands such as Pelco, Bosch, JVC, Arecont Vision, Hikvision, Vivotek, Cathexis, Milestone, Ziton and Aritech.

Looking ahead, Horne says, “We plan to grow our footprint and reseller base within South Africa and beyond, while still retaining the excellent customer service upon which our continued success has been based.”
