ThoroughTec, a company in the toll collection industry, recently announced that it had acquired the assets and intellectual property of Bulwark Parking. ThoroughTec has also signed its first parking equipment deal, worth close to R1 million, for equipment to be installed at Pietermaritzburg's Golden Horse Casino.
ThoroughTec Managing Director Rob Letschert said it was upgrading Bulwark's parking equipment, and the casino would be getting the first of the upgraded versions. ThoroughTec said it would support existing customers in the field.
ThoroughTec has created a parking systems division to add to those dealing with modelling and simulation, crime prevention technologies, variable message signs and toll collection.
Letschert said the simulator division had recently been awarded a R5 million contract by Armscor for the development of a simulator for the Rooikat defence system.
