DNA Sensormatic has announced the introduction of a unique new digital video recorder, Digicorder. Custom-built for pro-active, intelligent incident recording, Digicorder digitally records live images from strategically positioned cameras that can be monitored and controlled remotely and securely from a PC or laptop anywhere in the world.
Configured with pre-event software and video activation system (VAS) software, Digicorder will trigger and store pre and post-events using a searchable database. Triggers may include the VAS software or any other normally open/normally closed type triggers, which are common to the security market.
On-board smart timer functionality offers the user added protection during out-of-office hours or other configurable periods throughout the day. Options include continuous recording and remote transmission. The system dials out upon triggered events and transmits live and recorded images via PSTN and ISDN, or sends an SMS text message to a mobile phone.
The Digicorder differs from conventional remote transmission systems by combining digital image recording and remote transmission, so you can see both the live camera image and instantly identify the cause of the alarm by viewing the store. Digicorder will continue to record in response to alarm activations whilst on-line, so security staff can concentrate on reporting the incident and leave the job of tracking and recording evidence to the cameras and detection system.
