Aluvin Securiseal is successfully marketing two new special seals designed for the logistics industry.
According to Kevin Norwitz, Managing Director at Aluvin, the main advantage of these two devices is that they are re-usable and therefore cost-efficient over time. "Because they can be used repeatedly the truckers and logistics companies can save substantially in the long term."
The first of these seals is the SecuReLoc which is fixed permanently to the truck. Each time the cable is fixed to the lock a new, random and unique number is displayed in the window of the mechanism. When the key unlocks the cable, the number is scrambled. This enables immediate detection of whether any tampering has taken place.
A significant advantage of this lock is that it operates mechanically. It is housed in a rugged AISI 316 grade stainless steel box providing protection against the elements.
Trans-Lok
The second seal is the Trans-Lok. This is a high-security bolt seal which comes with a unique removal tool which can be custom-keyed. The bolt has a small hole which can be threaded with an indicative seal so that tampering can be immediately detected.
"This particular sealing mechanism is best used in a controlled environment - for example warehouse to warehouse deliveries - and because of its re-usability, it represents a substantial cost saving in the long term," said Norwitz.
