Pi Electronic Security has unveiled a new marketing and distribution strategy to increase service levels and add value to its clients.
"The main changes to Pi's current operational structure revolve around a renewed marketing focus and the introduction of an enhanced distribution network. This new strategy is dependent on our own reading of the marketplace which we believe has already shifted emphasis towards the client requiring a greater ease of ordering at more cost-effective product pricing", states Brian Appleton, CEO of Pi Electronic Security.
Market focus
Pi's main market focus will be to offer high-quality levels of support to the major national users and independent security companies. Regional offices will continue to provide sales and technical support with product purchases being despatched from a central distribution depot in Gauteng. This will enable Pi to offer competitive product pricing without compromising its support levels in the regions.
The installer base will, in the main, be serviced with Pi products supplied through the establishment of a national business partner network. Says Appleton, "This is an exciting and new development for Pi as we seek to form alliances in a consolidating market. Current employees of Pi have been appointed as business partners and this affords our regional clients continuity of business with familiar faces."
Major independent security suppliers have also been appointed on a national basis as business partners and this information will be released shortly.
Enhanced distribution network
QD has invested R2m in a major upgrade to its distribution capability. At the heart of the new system is sophisticated distribution software providing a comprehensive ordering and invoicing solution to meet customers needs. Customers will also be able to make use of the company's new e-commerce-based business solution.
Appleton comments, "There have been some job losses relating to the introduction of the new strategy in the administration and back office departments. The repositioning of Pi is an exciting development and this new strategy, coupled with our commitment to local design and manufacturing, will ensure Pi remains a force in an industry in which it has been successfully involved for two decades."
