AIM is a holistic asset management solution which enables clients and service providers to effectively manage and keep account of their ICT assets, by providing real-time information relating to an asset’s location as well as its content.
The system fundamentally only catered for the asset location ICT assets such as desktops, laptops, projectors etc and has since been enhanced to cater for all asset types including and not limited to vehicles, vehicle keys and all other non-movable assets.
Readers are installed at strategic areas within the building, creating RFID zones as well as entry/exit points. The readers will communicate with all active tags every few seconds to locate the device on-site and raise any alarms for non-movable assets or assets leaving the building and not yet ‘checked out’.
The identification has become very important as well as for software inventory for computers as it is often hard to prove the intellectual property installed on a computer. The inventory will list all software installed as well as the dates allowing full management of all licensed software on the network.
The vehicle management module allows service advisors to accurately determine and advise a client on how long it would approximately take for a vehicle to be complete or delays due to awaiting parts. Due to the vehicle keys also being tagged, it eliminates time spent on finding keys when a customer collects their vehicle.
Asset management has become an all-round need and can be adapted to cater for most industries.
