South African vehicle and asset tracking company Mtrack is launching a new consumer-focused vehicle tracking and management solution. Called Mtrack Scout, this is the first off-the-shelf, plug-and-play tracking solution available in South Africa, designed specifically for the cost-conscious consumer and small business markets.
Deon Bayly, MD of Mtrack, says the new product will be available for purchase from retailers or over the Internet. “The benefit of Mtrack Scout is that it is simple to install and manage, making it the only such tracking solution available to the average consumer in South Africa. It truly is a plug-and-play system anyone can install and activate in minutes, but it still offers powerful fleet management capabilities traditionally only found in more expensive products aimed at the corporate market.”
All users do is follow the video instructions to install the device, after which they register and activate their service online. Once registered, Mtrack Scout not only tracks vehicles via GPS and cellular location services, but can also read information from the vehicle itself. This includes a variety of data, such as the engine’s RPM, speed, any excessive idling time or any incidents of harsh braking or accelerating, among others.
