New blood for Sensor

Sensor Security Systems, one of the last privately owned distributors in southern Africa, has added to its staffing line-up.

Electronic security expert Mark Crichton has added his weight to the Gauteng team. He started in IT in the mid-nineties and had overseas training in Scotland and Switzerland. He worked in the financial services industry and sunk his teeth into virtually every aspect of electronic security. Some of his achievements include being awarded the R10 million Pecanwood golf estate tender; being shortlisted amongst three companies out of a total of 50 tenders for the main R250 million TUT tender; and running his own company within a company. He later joined Norbain as senior account manager for Fidelity Security and Protea Coin Engineered Systems (ESS).

Lisa Minnie (Karam), joined as sales manager, Gauteng. She has worked for a number of key companies in the industry such as Risk Diversion, Mutual Austen Safe Group, Out the Square (A division of BidVest) and Timeless Technologies. She has earned her wings in our industry and made a name for herself in the banking and retail markets. Minnie is one of only five women in the world that has the Flir technical qualification.

Melville Frahm spent 12 years in the GSM cellular industry working for Radiospoor Telecomms. He started as a manager of a single branch and worked his way up to national sales manager. In 12 years he learned all about the technical aspect of how the cellular networks work. He joined the security industry in 2007 working for Bosch Security Systems as a key account manager for the likes of Sensor Security, Devtrade, Pinnacle Africa and Pentagon Distribution. He worked closely with various partners in large governmental and private projects. Obtaining his certification for Bosch BVMS, Bosch Fire FPA5000, Bosch Plena and Praesidio.

Ashley Pitout has been involved in project management and installations of large audio, CCTV, fire detection, CATV and access control systems. He project managed projects such as Sun City Palace, Grand West Casino, UCT IP CCTV upgrade and the One and Only Hotel. Pitout was self-employed in sales and installation of CCTV and audio from 2004 to 2007, but industry (I-to-I Technologies) pulled him back into the field. Since 2010 he held the position of branch manager for Zaptronix Site Risk Solutions in the Western Cape.
