IPSS has introduced the iEvo fingerprint readers into its access control product range. With the added benefit of the ability to integrate into Paxton access controllers this partnership makes for a successful formula.
The fingerprint readers use the Lumidigm Multi-Spectral Imaging Technology sensors (MSI) which make scans of the finger using differing light frequencies.
The sensor uses blue, green, red as well as white light scans and captures differing aspects of the physiology of the finger. In using this technology the varying frequencies of light which have different reflectance and refractive properties the technology discerns different information about the presented finger. The sensor also allows the scanning of the tiny blood vessels in the fingertips and by scanning the ridges of fingerprint additional information about a fingerprint can be gathered even when the applied finger is wet and dirty with damaged skin and regardless of the varied pressure which is applied resulting in a more accurate scan.
iEvo fingerprint readers have proved to be reliable under any condition and damp, wet, dirty, oily and even some latex gloves do not have any effect on the reader’s ability to function.
The readers are networkable and include Wiegand outputs for interfacing with other systems. Designed to be used both internally and externally it is IP65 rated and can be flush or surface mounted, has a thermostat heated sensor when used outside and is vandal resistant.
