The Video Management System (BVMS) from Bosch is easy to use even for large enterprise systems. Each component is configured out-of-the-box with just a few clicks, ready for instant start-up. Its simple usability-tested functions allow for intuitive use of the software, enabling operators to work more efficiently and effectively.
With BVMS all the cameras, no matter where they are recording behave the same to an operator. Their set-up and configuration can be carried out from any location, and this is facilitated by automatic discovery and assignment of IP addresses. “In short, any camera added to the network becomes a completely active part of the security system within minutes,” explains Gerard Otterspeer, product marketing manager Video Systems at Bosch Security Systems.
With the update to version 4.0, BVMS now enables the central monitoring and operation of multiple sites over low bandwidth. This is configurable per user group, determining what the central monitoring site can see from sub-systems – an important consideration for legally separate entities.
Moreover, the transparent licensing scheme means there is no need for a licence for each camera within the multi-site environment, but simply per sub-system. “That makes it easy to integrate additional channels, workstations and even functionality as the need arises,” says Otterspeer.
Operators will also benefit from the introduction of access via mobile devices. The system now supports live viewing and playback on mobile clients, including permissions from the BVMS. The new client is configured such that current BVMS operators can log in using their existing credentials and control the cameras as before.
Finally, BVMS is now open to third-party cameras that support the ONVIF standard. This conforms to the proven concept of supporting a wide range of technologies, from analogue Allegiant matrix systems right up to the latest HD and intelligent video analysis techniques. As a result, users can easily migrate or extend their systems to take advantage of the latest video surveillance technologies, while retaining their existing equipment for a higher return on their investment.
Configurable for large enterprise systems and specific IT environments, BVMS is ideal for stadiums and arenas, factories and warehouses, schools, offices, and urban surveillance applications.
