G4S Cash Solutions (South Africa) and fleet management giant Imperial, have concluded a deal which will see Imperial supply the cash in transit business with over 700 new armoured vehicles. The vehicles, which will also be rebranded, will be fitted with advanced technology to enhance the security features.
“The aim of this partnership with Imperial is to drive cost savings and to improve service levels and the company’s image,” says Andy Baker, regional president for Africa at G4S.
G4S currently operates in 29 African countries and is in the process of entering three more this year. The typical strategy is to follow multinational customers into new markets where they need security to operate and expand their businesses. Ensuring the company has the same image is an important step.
According to Baker, the rebranding exercise will see the blue cash in transit vehicles being phased out from the roads of SA, and replaced by white armoured vehicles with a G4S logo on either side.
