Scanning security for hospitals

HAB International Fire & Security has introduced the Hospital Checkpoint System, a low-cost package designed to meet the security checkpoint requirements for medical centres such as hospitals, as well as other government and commercial facilities. The Hospital Checkpoint System consists of the multi-energy Rapiscan 618XR X-ray system for screening input and output baggage.

The Rapiscan Hospital Checkpoint System also includes the reliable Metor 6M walk-through metal detector and the Metor 28 handheld metal detector. HAB provides full service backup and maintenance support as well as specialised operator training for all its checkpoint systems.

The system complies with all published international standards including the USFDA Centre for Devices and Radiation Health Standards for Cabinet X-Ray Systems Federal Standard 21-CFR 1020.40). Typical leakage radiation is less than 0,1 mR/hr compared to maximum leakage at 0,5 mR/hr permitted by the Federal Standard. Film safety guaranteed for high speed films up to ISO 1600.
