New protection services division for C3

August 2012 News & Events

C3 Shared Services has announced the development of its new division which will be offering a first-of-its-kind integrated risk solution to clients that will comprise of skilled control room operators and high-grade security guards and will, in effect, close the gap between the technical solution installed on site and the personnel monitoring the surveillance system. These professional and highly-trained personnel will be capable of not only monitoring the surveillance system effectively, but will also perform basic maintenance and fault finding duties as well. The physical protection services will be offered in the form of high grade security guards personally interviewed and inducted by C3 Shared Services and trained on site at C3’s training centre.

Ernst Opperman, a former SAPS member with 22 years of senior level experience in the security industry, will be heading up the new division. Ernst says, “I consider C3 Shared Services to be a progressive, professional company and I am honoured to have the opportunity to be an integral part of this organisation. The new division will be offering key services such as a 24 hour control room, high-grade security guards, risk management, specialised control room operators, investigations and polygraph services as well as technical solutions and installations.”

He goes on to explain the need for the new division, “The security industry is divided into a guarding or manpower driven component and a technological component. At present, technologically driven security companies offer sophisticated surveillance solutions to customers, while expecting a security officer with very little training and technical ability to monitor these systems and command them. The integration between the two industries has never really taken place and they now compete with each other instead of complementing each other.”

The new division will bridge this gap, offering a fully integrated risk solution comprising of a manpower component working with the technological under one service level agreement (SLA).

Brendon Cowley, business development director of C3 says, “We are confident with this new division as we have seen that there is a definite need for the integration of the technological side with the manpower side when it comes to offering a proper turnkey security solution. Unfortunately, many companies offering the manpower solution fall short of the customer’s expectations as they do not always recruit suitable candidates for the job at hand.

“C3 will be addressing this issue by providing staff that are highly skilled and trained specifically for their individual task. We realise that our staff will be our most important asset and we will be investing a lot of resources into making sure that they project the company’s already highly regarded and very professional image”.
