Following the appointment of Duxbury Networking as a distributor for the range of Axis surveillance cameras, the company has broadened its reach into the high-tech security market with the addition of software, storage and other complementary offerings.
“Technology innovation continues to drive developments in the video surveillance industry,” says Andy Robb, chief technology officer at Duxbury Networking. “With a history in the networking arena, we are ideally placed to assist companies to incorporate modern surveillance systems into corporate networks and information management systems – giving security managers better visibility of the processes associated with surveillance in the broadest sense.”
In line with the convergence of analogue and digital technologies in the surveillance industry, Duxbury complements its camera offerings with Milestone software systems, Netgear network switches and storage systems and Pivot3 Internet Protocol (IP) scalable storage devices and virtual server appliances.
“In surveillance applications, these products underpin our existing product line-up of wireless backhaul and point-to-point offerings from Alvarion, Bridgewave, Motorola and Proxim, whose solutions play key roles in schools, clinics and government institutions in areas where traditional copper wire and fibre-optic cable are impractical alternatives.”
Robb says Duxbury Networking is able to provide training on all its products and solutions, assisting its dealers and resellers with site surveys and installations as required.
“Increasingly, security elements will be linked to other business systems throughout organisations. We are looking ahead to the point where traditional security elements such as alarms and access control systems are merged with event-driven video and then remotely managed,” he adds.
