The rapidly developing digital market is seeing the days of supplying sealed standalone boxes quickly disappearing. This is according to Vision Catcher's Niall Beazley. "The cry from the marketplace is 'integrate' - look at components you may need and bring them together in a total solution; your security cameras, your access control, your audio requirements, your data-storage and many other facets."
According to Beazley, Open Architecture has been much talked about and often misquoted with a wide variety of thoughts and views as to what it constitutes. The key to Open Architecture is an easy interface and integration between all software and hardware. Many clients are now asking for the ability to link solutions, so that hardware and software redundancy is no longer an issue; and can be upgraded on a continuous and ongoing basis.
Beazley explained that Vision Catcher is actively involved in producing answers for clients' needs; not only for the dealers who sell and market the Vision Catcher range, but also the end-user. "Development is ongoing and we supply a free software upgrade every quarter. What is more is that we are actively looking to satisfy as many areas of the marketplace as possible." Vision Catcher's recent installations have seen parts or a combination of requirements being asked for; 180 cameras all linked, access tagging with time and date database linking, duplex audio, more than six months of data storage.
"You should look to integrate the components you will need to provide a total solution. You should look to upgrade, when upgrades become available, you should look to plan your costs layout so that you can build the system capable of satisfying your needs for not just the next few years, but for the foreseeable future," Beazley concludes.
