A South African accreditation programme designed to improve the overall proficiency of business partners in the marketing and implementation of security systems is now being used in the UK with the first of several courses having been delivered by the authors.
Management at Evolving Management Solutions (EMS), a Midrand-based asset control and access management company, developed the accreditation programme, which is now in use in the UK and was presented to a wide number of security product resellers there recently.
The programme has now been initiated in the UK by EMS's subsidiary I3ST and was presented by Stuart Pickering, MD at EMS, assisted by Marketing Director Steve Mason, to seven UK security companies all of which responded enthusiastically.
Mason says the accreditation programme is not restricted to products developed and marketed by the company, but can be regarded as a generic overview of the security industry. "Our aim is to have the programme recognised by the industry regulatory bodies thereby giving it credence and bringing more efficiency into the security industry in general."
He says it has already been applauded in SA and now extended to the UK with similar positive results.
The accreditation courses are divided into sales and technology sessions. The idea is for business partners to be equipped with the necessary skills to ensure overall proficiency. Once a business partner has the minimum number of accredited staff, certain benefits such as discounts and reciprocal business opportunities are made available.
