Security plate for asset management

June 2006 Asset Management

Asset management company Consultica has made a new theft prevention product available to the southern African market.

Theftstop works as an identification and asset tracking solution in the form of a metal identification plate that is attached to assets.

The aim is not only to eliminate the resale of stolen goods by decreasing the resale value thereof, but also to enable the clear identification of the item - thus providing the information Consultica needs to retrieve the item and return it to its rightful owner if it has been lost or stolen. Another feature of the product is that it will cut down insurance fraud as well as assist the police in recovering and returning items.

Once adhered to an item, the Theftstop burglarproof plate can resist a pull of up to 400 kg and makes the item immediately identifiable, and thus unsuitable for resale. If the plate was to be removed, an indelible ink marking of 'stolen equipment' as well as contact details will be left behind in the place where the plate used to be.

The plate can be used in the office as well as in the home - from computers to microwaves, from photocopy machines to dishwashers. Assets protected with Theftstop plates are automatically registered on Consultica's Web-based database.
