Aluvin Securiseal, the sole distributor for ITW Envopak in South Africa, has launched the Asurpak, a re-usable envelope for confidential documentation.
Fitted with a unique closing chamber, the Asurpak is a heavy-duty cardboard envelope which can be resealed and re-used time after time thereby reducing waste and costs.
According to ITW Envopak's David Billingham, this is a unique product and the first of its kind in the world.
"Previously, the most important consideration for an envelope containing confidential items was the 'tamper-evident' mechanism. However, with the Asurpak, we have concentrated on its re-usability as well as the tamper evident qualities. Initial reactions to the product from customers in Europe indicate that this could be one of our most successful products of all time."
Kevin Norwitz, managing director of Aluvin, says that the main advantage of the Asurpak is a significant cost saving. "Because it is a re-usable envelope, costs are reduced by up to as much as 43%. Add to this its exceptionally high level of tamper evidence and we have a sure winner."
The Asurpak envelope is manufactured from a 250 gsm recycled card and is protected from folding and creasing and resists tears and splits. The re-usable closure is fastened with an easy to operate Envoquik seal. The seals are stored in a small container within the envelope enabling the client to re-seal and send back the envelope with the minimum of effort.
Norwitz says that once the Envoquik seal has been inserted, the Asurpak cannot be opened without the seal being broken. Each Envoquik seal is printed with a unique six digit number providing tamper evident protection for the Asurpak contents during storage and/or transportation.
"Simply write the number of the Envoquik seal in the order-tracking table to create an order trail for tracing when the contents have been accessed. Upon arrival at its destination the recipient can check the Envoquik seal number against the documented number to ensure that tampering has not occurred," explains Norwitz.
