An innovative, practical solution to the securing of catering and duty-free trolleys used on aircraft is now available from Aluvin Securiseal, sole distributors of ITW Envopak products in South Africa. The partly reusable Padseal, which was developed by ITW Envopak in conjunction with airlines, is compact, cost-effective, user-friendly and provides increased barrier protection and evidence of tampering.
The Padseal comes in two sizes. It has a re-usable body and a disposable, numbered hasp which is available in plastic or metal. According to Aluvin MD Kevin Norwitz, it combines the strength of a padlock with the security of a specially designed, uniquely numbered security seal, with no keys to be lost or copied. Although the Padseal was originally designed for specific applications such as trolleys, they can be effectively used as an improvement on traditional padlocks.
"The development of the Padseal is part of a shift in strategy by ITW Envopak from off-the-shelf to solution selling, which has seen the company establish a project team to study businesses and tailor solutions to their specific needs," says Norwitz. "Through our association with ITW Envopak, Aluvin is now able to tap into sealing solutions that have been custom designed for specific customers all over the world, to the benefit of the local market."
