The Portable Rapid Deployment Observation Monitoring System (PROMS) from Pyser-SGI, represented locally by AfriMeasure, is designed for all static urban and rural surveillance operations. PROMS provides ultra long range surveillance target acquisition using its combination of day or night sensor technology providing much higher times magnification than normal spotting scopes in service today.
With a mass of only 20 kg, the device has a colour video display with up to 711x magnification and an optional night vision image intensified video with up to 519x magnification and optional naked eye night vision image intensified observation up to 253x magnification.
PROMS is man portable and can be rapidly deployed within a few minutes. With its unique remote monitoring system, surveillance operators are able to monitor and record information observed from the target area well away from where the sensor platform is deployed. This allows operators to work in complete safety and allows the use of multiple observers without compromising the position of the sensor platform.
