ASSA ABLOY South Africa recently took bold steps towards consolidation of its work environment by moving its Robertsham factory and head office to an upgraded facility in Roodepoort.
ASSA ABLOY SA identified the need for the move from Robertsham to Roodepoort in August 2002. It became apparent that to achieve increased productivity and growth, it was important to have complete integration of the factories, administration, sales team and support services. This could only become a reality on the Roodepoort site. Furthermore, it was realised that management of resources would be improved and the final move of profit centres under one roof would allow for better participation and ownership.
Brian Sedgwick, operations director of ASSA ABLOY SA, says, "We aim for organic growth through market education aimed at raising the need for higher security. We are now more capable of meeting the wide range of our customers' needs effectively and efficiently."
