A new state-of-the-art 'IBBISS' help point system, designed initially for use within the London Underground tube network, was recently launched at IFSEC 2003.
IBBISS is a joint venture between two communications manufacturers, Interalia and Baldwin Boxall. Each IBBISS help point offers help/reassurance in an emergency for people travelling on the underground network and is also capable of supplying general information (such as travel information). An added facility is the ability to trigger a fire detection system from the front panel of the IBBISS help point.
Help points are intended to provide the public with a safer environment and also act as an effective crime deterrent.
