CEM Systems recently showcased its new range of Ethernet-based card readers and access control panels at IFSEC 2003.
On display for the first time was the S600e that has an on-board 10-100 Ethernet connection and communicates directly with the central database server removing the need for an intelligent control panel in the system design.
The S600e can use all card reading technologies and has the ability to control up to four read head devices simultaneously such as HID, Mifare, Wiegand and Biometrics. An on-board database ensures that card validation is maintained even when the reader is off-line from the central server. The functionality is further enhanced by a graphics LCD display, which provides the ability to display useful messages and icons for the cardholder.
