Outstanding export figures have helped Dedicated Micros, one of the UK's largest manufacturers of professional CCTV equipment, to win the International Trade section of the annual Queen's Awards for Enterprise.
Over the past three years, overseas earnings have increased by 173%, representing nearly 70% of total turnover.
International take-up of DM's products has been boosted by maintaining local offices in the USA, Europe, Malta, Australia and Asia, offering marketing, sales and technical support to customers in each region. A new facility has recently been opened in Dubai, and further offices are planned for France and other European countries, plus an additional office on America's west coast.
Nigel Petrie, group chairman at Dedicated Micros, says: "It is a great honour to receive the Queen's Award, and is a fair reflection of the significant inroads we have made into the export market for CCTV equipment and expertise."
