New biometric on the block

April 2010 Access Control & Identity Management

ZKSoftware has quietly set up a direct presence in South Africa. Hendrik Combrinck tells the story.

ZKSoftware set up its South Africa office in April 2009 and officially launched its presence in January 2010. This has been the result of market growth and the ever expanding range of products that the company can deliver.

ZKSoftware entered the SA market in 2005 and we have grown from an unknown brand to a powerful competitor to all the major biometric and RFID distributors in SA by covering the whole of the South African market. Because of the design and manufacturing power of ZK, more distributor channels will join us in the near future.

The main function of the South African office is to provide direct local services to our established distributor channels and also to give these distributors the chance to expand international relations as well.

Our biometric and RFID readers are unsurpassed in quality, speed, ease of use, and affordability. To meet and exceed the ever-changing needs of our customers, ZKSoftware offers custom design and manufacturing, as well as an extensive line of readers available for private label.

With over 20 years of experience producing affordable hardware, software and firmware. ZKSoftware’s terminals have the fastest fingerprint-matching technology available. This technology is developed and manufactured in China by 2000+ employees at our 120 000 square-foot, ultra-modern facility, the largest biometric and RFID facility in the world.

Over 1,8 million readers have been sold in over 110 countries. ZK has secured approximately 80% of the Chinese time and attendance and access control market and 50% in the rest of the Asian Pacific area. Every month, the ZK factory dispatches 50 000 devices, in terms of sent out terminals, ZK is the leading biometric manufacturer worldwide.
