Betafence SA secures Green Point

March 2010 News & Events

Betafence’s corrosion resistant coating as well as an anti-corrosion product guarantee of 10 years are some of the reasons why the Cape Town-based company was chosen as the fencing supply partner for the Green Point Stadium contract. Several tourist and commercial facilities such as Club Mykonos in nearby Langebaan; Rose Hill Mall in the Eastern Cape; Mercedes Benz Complex also in the Eastern Cape; V&A Waterfront in Cape Town and La Lucia Ridge Office Park in Umhlanga KwaZulu-Natal have already benefitted from the unique corrosion-resistant fencing systems supplied by the company.

The dominant aspect for the security of the entrances to Green Point Stadium was the design of a total solution, giving a complete answer to the specific requirements of the project, balancing visibility and aesthetic design with stadium perimeter protection. The product supplied was the vandal and climb proof 358 Dublo mesh with Zincalu Super coating.

The use of the mesh to form part of the walkways at the entrance as well as the parking area window grids elevates the overall design to a new level of aesthetics, combining architectural chic with practicality and security. The unique use of the Betafence product can be accredited to the OVP Architect team based in Cape Town. Jan van Pappendorf and his team decided that security and functionality need not negate on aesthetic design and so formulated a world-class design.
