Unlike other alternatives, the AcoustAlert perimeter intrusion detection system uses a length of acoustic cable (up to 300 metres per zone) which is mounted onto perimeter fencing or palisade structures to detect people climbing over, cutting or interfering with the fence fabric.
Since it is a cable sensor system it can follow the fence or perimeter line around corners and where it does not follow a straight line. This is unlike beam detectors, for example, that can only detect from point to point, or PIR detectors which cover only a certain distance.
AcoustAlert will not pick up unwanted alarms when someone walks past or near the fence – an alarm is only triggered when an intruder interferes with the fence physically or by cutting or climbing over it. Each field processor has two detection zones, so for one field processor a fence line of up to 600 metres can be protected.
AcoustAlert is easily maintained and installed, and can be used for wall top detection and for burrowing under fences.
