Mimic Components has released an all-in-one, low energy solar light, available in 24 W or 48 W. It would typically be mounted 5 m apart with easy clamping directly onto a straight pole between 50 m/70 m DIA.
The main feature is the built-in PIR combined with a low output. At night the light emanates a steady 10% lumen output and then lights up to 100% power when triggered by the PIR, which lasts for about 30 seconds. The trigger is set off when someone walks underneath the light or within close proximity to it. This is convenient for the walker and aids as a visual security measure. Low power mode acts as a dim courtesy light where a path is still visible.
At 100% power, this light has exceptional illumination, and no reticulation. Maximum illumination at 100% power lasts for 2 hours and at 10% power, up to 16 hours with a direction range of 90° to a maximum of 6 m detection. Light output is 1600 lm for a 24 W unit and 3200 lm for 48 W.
Design consideration ensures independent protection of the PIR board, battery and LED, giving it an IP65 rating. The power source is Li-ion battery and solar power. Charging times are 9.5 hours for 24 W and 12 hours for 48 W. There are two battery indications; one shows a consistent light when fully charged and the other shows a slow rate flashing red light for low battery status.
