Biometric terminals like the new HandPunch GT400 from Uniclox will prevent fraud from buddy clocking. While fingerprint terminals are popular in commercial applications, many industrial companies find that hand geometry is faster and more consistent because it is unaffected by dirt, paint, oil or damage to the fingertips.
“Instead of punching manual or electronic timecards, employees simply enter their number and place their hand on the platen of the HandPunch terminal. It automatically takes a three-dimensional reading of the size and shape of the hand and verifies the user’s identity in less than one second,” explains Peter Noppe, MD of Uniclox Technologies.
Customers can set up programmable function keys with specific software to create validation tables, multi-level promptings or menus that meet specific requirements. There is also a built-in relay for ringing a bell or locking a door on certain hardware models.
