Crest launches SkillsGrid

July 2017 News & Events, Security Services & Risk Management

Crest Advisory Arica has announced its appointment as certified consultants for SkillsGrid, an intelligent system designed to assist in deploying people optimally in the workplace. SkillsGrid is developed by Shadowmatch.

The SkillsGrid solution is a worksheet of 25 questions measuring five dimensions and 25 skills. It takes about 25 minutes to complete the questions and the results allow companies to ascertain the optimum skills needed for a specific environment and created a benchmark. This allows managers and HR practitioners to determine what skills are required for a job or what additional training they need to provide to employees in that field.

The dimensions measured by SkillsGrid include:

• People skills

• Cognitive skills

• Management and planning skills

• Communication skills

• Technical skills

Nico Snyman, CEO of Crest Advisory Africa explains that every company needs to develop their employees to empower them to improve their performance. Currently companies do so through guesswork, but SkillsGrid allows one to pinpoint the skills needed to optimise a specific environment. “This makes addressing skills and employee development scientific, measurable, structured, specific and objective driven, compared to a guestimate that is not measurable in the context of benefits for the organisation,” Snyman says.

With SkillsGrid, Crest is addressing companies and business units that want to optimise their production and have a strategic process in addressing skills development. However, Snyman adds that individuals can also make use of the system as people don’t always know what they don’t know, and SkillsGrid can assist in their career development.

The service offered by Crest costs R225 per person for the completion of the SkillsGrid questionaire.
