Graphic Image Technologies (GIT) has announced that it will host a DVTEL Latitude certification training course on 16-18 May 2016 at their offices in Johannesburg.
GIT is a specialist in mobile/remote CCTV, video analytics, thermal cameras, control room technologies and broadcast video compression. The company offers DVTEL products which include CCTV solutions over IP, megapixel cameras, thermal cameras and video analytics over both analogue and IP or hybrid platforms
“The three-day DVTEL Latitude certification course is intended for installers, service technicians, application engineers and users of the DVTEL line of IP -based security products,” says Julian Jacobs from GIT. Latitude certification is required by system integrators wishing to sell DVTEL enterprise solutions
The course will introduce Latitude 7+ to users who previously supported 6.4 and aims to equip certified system integrators to sell and maintain the Latitude enterprise solutions, he says.
The Latitude Network Video Management System (NVMS) is a fully scalable enterprise-class media management system which allows simultaneous live monitoring from multiple stations. The software can be configured to store and view footage from one to thousands of cameras. It also allows one to monitor connections across an unlimited number of servers.
Updates in Latitude version 7.0+ include the following capabilities:
• Cyber defence – This update introduces a cyber-defence component, a significant development in this field, as it acknowledges the threat to CCTV systems from hackers and cyber intruders.
• Optimised streaming – The user interface is completely overhauled, moving the customer experience toward a web-based application with a notification centre. This updated client interface is also touch-optimised and offers an informative camera catalogue with a dynamic live camera layout.
Course participants will be able to:
• Understand networking principles as they relate to the Latitude NVMS platform.
• Perform software installation and configuration of Latitude NVMS servers and clients.
• Perform all system administrator functions, resulting in complete system.
• Configuration of the Latitude NVMS system using DVTEL’s admin centre software.
• Perform all operator/guard functions using DVTEL’s control centre software.
• Perform installation & configuration of DVTEL encoders and configuration of altitude IP cameras.
Jacobs says participants will also be offered preferred technical support from FLIR/DVTEL and GIT, he adds. GIT schedules the Latitude training to take place bi-annually.
