After identifying a gap in the market for providing a seamless wired and wireless solution to the predominantly WISP and ISP industries, Jan Keyser formed Switchcom Distribution in January 2016.

With over 20 years of combined experience in the industry, the Switchcom team has outlined as its mission the provision of a value-added wired and wireless hardware offering. Keyser explains that the company builds value into the products that it offers by adding services that makes installation, commissioning and business operability much easier.

Switchcom is situated in Linbro Business Park in 500 m² of warehousing and 100 m² of office space, with plans to expand to other regions during the course of the next 18 months. The company currently employs a number of technical sales staff, bringing a wealth of knowledge and capabilities across the full spectrum of wired, wireless, security and VoIP offerings.

The team is able to conceptualise, design and implement wireless solutions using brands such as Hikvision IP video, Ubiquiti broadband wireless, MikroTik routing, TG-NET data switching hardware, Trendnet SoHo to SMB networking products in both wired and wireless hardware, and Zycoo SMB IP PBX solutions.

“In addition, Switchcom Network Accessories offers a variety of networking utilities and hardware. From network cabling to brackets, poles and installation materials to support the WISP, security and IT installers,” says Keyser.

The company provides its customers with access to extensive product and system certified training at its facilities or on site, depending on customer requirements.
