The AIMSS platform has now been further enhanced by the addition of LoRa technology into the eGuard guarding solution. LoRa, are low power wide area networks (LPWAN) being deployed around the world to enable Internet of Things (IoT).
The system offers excellent long range RF coverage (up to 20 km)and is equipped with a low-power GPS receiver. The module is equipped with multiple onboard sensors. It offers accurate location based position data to be connected to any existing worldwide server application.
LoRa can extend the footprint of eGuard outside the footprint of GSM by a further 20 km. An ideal example would be mining; as most mines are regional, the GSM footprint is minimal and a huge challenge to feedback data. By adding LoRa to the eGuard module we now have another source of radio frequency without the use of a SIM card to extend the range and whereabouts of security guards and any asset under constant surveillance.
The LoRa module can be used for many other applications, such as asset tracking with an extended life span on one battery of up to five years in the field.
