The SMS Alert Portable Stand-Alone Alarm (with pepper gas) is a do-it-yourself portable alarm system with pepper gas. It can be mounted to a wall or moved around. It plugs into Eskom power and there is no installation needed.
Four cellphone users are notified via SMS when the alarm goes off. You can then SMS the system to let the pepper gas go off, or set it up so that the pepper gas sprays automatically when the passive picks up movement. It has one passive, sound bomb siren and a battery. There is space on the side of the system to add five extra passives, for expansion to other rooms.
An optional camera can be fitted, that sends a MMS photo to your cellphone once the motion detector picks up movement, and the alarm goes off. It also provides power loss and restore SMS notifications so that you know when the electricity goes off and on when you are not at home.
It has a listen-in microphone to verify adjacent noises, and also solar panel connectors with a regulator for sites without electricity. Two system relay outputs can be used e.g. to open/close a gate or switch a light on and off.
It works with a SIM-card which you insert into the system. The airtime balance can be checked on the Internet or via SMS. The system can be checked, armed and disarmed via SMS.
