ERS Networks has introduced a domestic or commercial alarm system using GPRS technology with an important function that allows commands to the control panel to be activated via SMS.
This solution is developed and manufactured in South Africa, which ensures cost-effective local back-up support. The integrated hardware package consists of the ERS 48Z control panel, wired and wireless devices, Codex remotes for panic, arming and disarming of the alarm, the GPRS communicator and short-range transceiver for remotely controlling an AC switcher.
The ERS 48Z is an 8 zone control panel, expandable to 48 zones, and can take any combination of wireless and hardware zones with up to 8 LCD/LED keypads. The short-range transceiver links to the control panel via a BUS line for communication to a remote AC switcher with relays to 220 V lighting on the property perimeter, or to trigger opening of gates or garage doors. This function can be performed from the control panel or through SMS commands and is particularly useful to allow armed response access into a property.
A serial ERS GPRS communicator device provides for full bi-directional transfer of data from the control panel or a cellphone to the control room of an alarm company, with full uploading and downloading capability. This device supplies full contact ID reporting via the ERS GPRS APN network.
