Employee tracking productivity

Powafix, a supplier to the paint, building and allied trades, has implemented Econz Wireless Timecard Lite employee tracking system to track and monitor the performance and productivity of their merchandisers in Johannesburg and Durban.

“Our merchandisers are strategic to our business,” says Powafix regional sales manager, Joel Poilly. “They visit our customers to provide their staff with knowledge of our range of products, check shelf layouts, promotions, and stock levels, which is then passed to our account managers who follow up with orders.”

Powafix provides a wide range of locally manufactured chemicals and solvents used in the timber, building, paint and DIY sectors at national chains such as Builders Warehouse, Mica, Jacks Paint, Timber City, Pennypinchers, etc. These products are used both by professionals and consumers.

“Before we implemented Timecard Lite, we had no idea if our merchandisers in the field were starting on time, visiting their allocated stores and not only transferring product knowledge to the store staff, but checking stock levels, promotions and product display. With Timecard Lite we not only now know when they start their work day, but are getting positive feedback from store managers and seeing an increase in orders,” says Poilly.

Powafix decided to implement the solution by giving their merchandisers new smartphones with the application already installed, and after a very small amount of staff training, was immediately effective.

“The staff involved found Timecard Lite very easy to use, and were not resistant at all to its use. If fact it has created a sense of pride in their performance. After even a short time we are seeing an increase in sales as the merchandisers push stock into the stores.

“We are aware that Timecard Lite is at entry level for us and we are exploring the additional features of Timecard and Eservice from Econz Wireless which offers job tracking and reporting, sales reports, payroll integration and much more.”
