Meet your ESDA member: Quality guard monitoring equipment

November 2014 Associations

Online Network Systems was launched in 2004 from a need to supply quality guard monitoring equipment to the South African market.

Richard Frost, Online’s MD, says the company supplies guard monitoring systems and ancillary services, such as time and attendance, ID cards, personnel and asset tracking and access control systems. The company’s primary target is companies in South Africa, but it is also aiming for the international market with the launch of its new MKIII system.

Online Network Systems is driven by the requirement to offer excellent backup service, innovation and support to a cost conscious market, and has developed a reputation for doing exactly that over the years. There are four primary market areas the company focuses on:

1. Onguard patrol management systems have been seen in Hi-Tech Security Solutions recently with the launch of the third generation of its guard monitoring and management system that includes new features, some of which are unique to the OnGuard system. Onguard’s vision is to provide the customer with an end-to-end solution, starting with staff vetting, data verification, patrol management and ending with time and attendance reporting. 2. Identiscan access control is the first level of access control to ensure the identity of the person and vehicle is accurate. The 2D barcode, when decoded, results in text and a picture appearing on the handheld scanner. See more at www.identican.co.za

3. MultiTrack Asset Tracking is a real-time GPS tracking platform. The platform supports multiple tracking devices for a wide range of applications, such as vehicle tracking, asset tracking and personal tracking. Multiple communication methods are also supported, including SMS, GPRS/3G and satellite. See more at www.multitrack.co.za

4. Gate-keeper GSM access control allows you to dial your gate from any phone with a missed call and the gate will open, provided the gate-keeper recognises the identity of the incoming call. See more at www.gate-keeper.co.za

When asked where he sees the business in a few years time, Frost says, “The advancement of technologies, particularly in the GSM sector, is evolving at such a pace that it is creating an environment for start-up companies to leapfrog established firms. As such, Online Network Systems is striving to develop our technologies to keep pace with this phenomenon in order to ensure we remain market leaders.”
