Syntech distributes IDIS

August 2014 News & Events

Syntech has announced its exclusive distribution agreement with IDIS to offer its IP solutions to the local market.

Geoff Malkin, Syntech’s CCTV manager, says IDIS’ DirectIP is the future for all IP surveillance solutions since it requires no technical experience. Its plug-and-play technology no longer requires installers to be network trained in order to install the hardware. This will allow installers who have traditionally steered away from network cameras the opportunity to tackle IP surveillance solutions and grow their businesses. The technology also presents an opportunity for established IP installers to reduce installation time and maximise profits on every new project.

DirectIP is a networked HD video surveillance solution with NVRs similar to traditional DVRs. It defines a set of protocols and operations among DirectIP devices as well as a set of methods to connect other DirectIP devices. The company’s IP without the PC concept permits single installation and configuration and allows instant streaming once connected. Once connected, the DirectIP NVR can setup and handle compatible devices without a PC.

It enables true plug-and-play installation with IDIS’ proprietary, automated set of protocols, including AutoIP, Multicast DNS and DNS Service Directory techniques. DirectIP solutions can record in HD (or higher) from multiple megapixel cameras direct to the NVR in real-time without degradation of quality, access or system stability.

The NVRs can perform five operational processes simultaneously: live-view, record, playback, remote access, backup of recorded audio/video, while the IDIS VMS (video management software) allows users to manage integrated security from both an NVR-based network security and existing DVR-based systems.
