Elvey Security Technologies also had a table-top exhibit at the retail breakfast and the company’s Derick Geldenhuys found it very applicable to the retail industry and was impressed with the speakers. He says Elvey was able to engage with a number of retailers and talk about the systems Elvey has on offer for the retail market, as well as make new connections.
Elvey’s Robin Lithgow was also on the company’s stand. He says the event was different to normal trade shows as he was able to gain an understanding of the retailers perceptions of the value security systems can deliver. His interactions also provided him with a better idea in terms of what retailers wanted from their security suppliers.
The flagship product on the Elvey stand was the DSC range of intrusion solutions. The company was able to demonstrate its basic alarm panel with a touch screen, which can be used for internal marketing when not in use. In addition, Elvey was also able to talk to attendees about its Visonic video verification solution that alerts control rooms with a snapshot of the location whenever an alarm is raised. This reduces the incidences of false alarms that currently plague the security industry.
The company also had a few CCTV products on its stand, including a new IP megapixel infrared bullet camera, which drew attention from retailers, some of whom are still getting their minds around the best use of surveillance technology. Finally, Elvey also had a few of Impro’s access control products on display.
Lithgow says the event was worthwhile and Elvey managed to get a few leads which will be followed up on. He also says the presentations were eye opening and educational for many of the people there.
