The eSkan mobile terminal is a low-cost device primarily designed to scan and decode the South African driver’s licence and vehicle licence disk, even in direct sunlight.
Visitor management becomes more important. It is crucial to control who enters a building, business park or estate. The eSkan was designed to quickly and accurately scan the vehicle licence disk and the driver’s licence and upload the captured data via WiFi to all the major back-end software solutions to grant/deny access.
The eSkan will be fully compliant with the Protection of Personal Information Act (PoPI) and therefore will be able to replace the pen and paper guard book cost-effectively. What makes this product further unique is that it is a locally designed product and it is manufactured in Silverton, Gauteng. It is battery-operated and the screen is also sunlight readable.
The eSkan has been in the market for almost three years and it speaks for itself. A vast number of companies, business parks and estates implement this technology with great success. It improves visitor access time and also accurately captures visitor’s information.
Because it is a low-cost solution, more and more smaller estates will adopt this solution to improve current security measures. New visitor management solutions can also use this technology very easily.
