IDS launched an online training and exam accreditation as a value add to IDS account-holding customers last year. The training is offered free to monitoring companies, installation businesses right from wireman to technician and sales managers to business owners.
The training consists of modules ranging from an Intrusion Basics Course which covers areas such as correct wiring, right up to advanced courses relating to control panel features and installer programming functions on IDS products.
The training can either be instructor-led based out of any of IDS’s eight branches in South Africa, or the delegates can complete the training modules online by registering and logging in at www.idsprotect.com. This is particularly convenient as it is self-paced and can be done from home after hours, and is accessible for our exports customers who are based all over the world.
After the training modules have been completed, the delegate can complete an online exam and will be issued a system generated training certificate if a pass of 80% of more is achieved.
This is a value add the company offers to IDS customers only, but reports it has taken off in the year since launch.
