Duxbury Networking has added a high-speed, point-to-point microwave link to its portfolio of licensed carrier-class products. The Proxim Tsunami GX800 is capable of operating in the 6–23 GHz licensed bands. With more than 600 Mbps aggregate throughput capacity, it is designed to support an array of user-configurable channel bandwidths, from 7-56 MHz.
The GX800 Series, which uses advanced radio technology, houses a proprietary packet system with different priority for each transmission channel, says Duxbury Networking CEO, Graham Duxbury. “This prioritisation platform intelligently allocates transmission capacity, depending on modulation scheme and channel bandwidth, controlling adaptive selection of user interfaces and their speeds.”
Ease of installation is facilitated by the unit’s small footprint and its availability in a split-mount design, comprising compact indoor and outdoor elements. From a technical perspective, the Proxim Tsunami GX800 makes use of both digital and analogue modulation schemes addressing a range of data rates – from QPSK (Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) to 256 QAM Quadrature Amplitude Modulation and higher.
The product supports high transmit power levels with up to +27 dBm for certain frequency bands and it is optimised for high-speed Ethernet networking and for transmission of standard E1 or E3 channels.
