UTC Fire & Security has announced its new range of UltraView cameras. The UltraView XP4 camera range delivers accurate images in real-world scenes, night and day, even under challenging, mixed lighting conditions. Using a Pixim Seawolf chipset with customised Interlogix firmware, the XP4 cameras also offer recording devices with 690 HTVL of effective total resolution.
In very dark scenes, XP4 cameras avoid image hot spots and capture clear highlight and shadow detail in black and white. XP4 cameras capture critical details and true colour in difficult, dimly lit scenes, avoiding colour fade common with analogue CCD cameras.
CCD cameras cannot adjust to highlights and lowlights in the same scene, a common scenario in security applications where light sources are directly visible to the cameras. XP4 cameras capture the entire picture even in the most challenging, mixed lighting conditions. XP4 cameras deftly handle any indoor lighting situation from offices and hallways to darkened storerooms – right out of the box. Additionally, the XP4 outperforms the competition in backlit scenes capturing both shadow and highlight details as well as eliminate glare and smear even in the brightest light.
