Carrier’s new range of call points move completely away from mechanical addressing. They offer not only electronic addressing, but connection-free electronic addressing. Using standard RFID technology, they allow for both powered and unpowered interaction directly with every device, or even multiple devices at a time. This configuration will also be possible from the CIE (fire alarm control panel) in the future.
RFID technology gives the fire engineer a unique capability of interacting with the device even before it is powered. Add this together with the capability to change settings directly at the device at any time, and a multitude of time saving scenarios jump to mind
Being able to communicate directly with the device additionally provides other benefits such as immediate access to operation parameters, installation details such as run time, events, manufacturing data, configuration settings and even electronic test methods that under current circumstances need to be accessed from a central location like the CIE.
Having these details immediately available allows for immediate actions to be performed without having to move from the installed device, and the possibility to immediately check and verify any corrective actions all add time saving and efficiency to your labour force.
Additional features include:
• Dual, tri-colour status indicators which offer 180° alarm visibility.
• Tamper resistant design with resettable or frangible element.
• Unobtrusive front-facing test facility.
• Standard mounting options facilitates easy retrofitting to existing installations.
To reap the benefits of this new functionality as a Carrier customer, all that is needed is a compatible, Bluetooth enabled RFID tool.
